Remember when this blog was relevant? Me either.

I do remember when it was fun. And alive. What happened? Life. Sadly the asset that was DisruptiveThoughts has slowly eroded. Gone. I want to invest into it – to build it up while enjoying a hectic life.

What to do?

Follow the advice a Nobel Laureate gives to dieters: donate to the Nazi party.

Commitment contracts, a constructed incentive to promote task completion. To this end, I’ve written and signed a contract to donate to Kiva every week that I don’t post 4 times.

Relevance isn’t the goal. It’s always been about thinking. See you tomorrow.

    Great … now everytime you post, not only do we who subscribe lose, but so does Kiva! :) It'd been too long since I tossed some public abuse your way.

    I'm at home sick with the flu so maybe my neurons aren't really firing – but this doesn't make sense to me. The only outcome I see is you posting less but feeling good about it because at least you donated to Kiva. It's the opposite of donating to the Nazi party. Am I missing something?? ps – we miss you in Hamilton! I'm looking at coming to NY for a month in September so we'll have to chat!

    AH! Finally you post. Welcome to the conversation (but sorry to hear you're sick). It's sort of the opposite, but not really. A negative incentive still exists in that if I don't write I have to pay moola. I can tell you that while I like Kiva I'd prefer to not be forking over moola on a weekly basis. You're down for a month? Elective?
